What Causes Throat Pain With Hoarseness?

My throat had been hurting for a couple of days. Now, it s better, but now I have some hoarseness or croaky sound in my voice. I regularly drink water frequently, and for the past week, I ve had a lot of soup, as well. And I m trying to rest my voice as much as possible, even though it s hard. Any other tips or other kinds of information?
