What Causes Throbbing Sensation In Neck While Suffering From Cold?

I am getting over a very bad cold. I presently have laryngitis and I started getting a throbbing sensation on the left side of my neck. I don t see anything in the mirror when I look, I just feel it. I am wondering if this throbbing has anything to do with this cold that I am trying to get rid of. I also have been coughing a lot at night.
