What Causes Tingling On Penis Tip After Recovering From Chlamydia Infection?

I am a 51 year old male, live in Japan. I vwas recently diagnosed with chlamydia. I was prescribed antibiotics (minocycline). Tests show the chlamydia infection has cleared up, but I continue to have a very slight tingling sensation at the tip of my penis. The doctor advised me to drink plenty of water, said the tingling will eventually go away. Is he correct?
