What Causes Tingling Sensation In Right Shoulder On Being Diagnosed With Diabetes Type 2?

I have been having sporadic episodes of tingling or the feeling of ants crawling around my right shoulder. It lasts anywhere from a minute to 2-3 minutes and then goes away. The amount of times this occurs has escalated to approximately5-8 times a day. I have no pain at all. I am left handed. I am 72 years old and have type 2 diabetes which is under control.
