What Causes Tiny White Matter T2 Hyperintensities In Frontal Lobes Bilaterally?

Hello. I am a health year old woman and have been suffering pain in the left side of my jaw also travelling to the side of my face, ear and temple. The word neuralgia was thrown into the mix so after my dentist found nothing within teeth cavities etc.. I proceeded to see my GP. He sent me to have an MRI scan which has resulted in a finding of 7 tiny white matter T2 hyperintensities in the frontal lobes bilaterally. I have now been advised I need to see a neuro surgeon. As a mother of two young boys I am petrified. I have been investigating myself but am at a loss as to what may have caused this. Can you shed any light? Thank you Jennifer
