What Causes Tiredness And Drowsiness While Having Diabetes Type 2?

My dad is seventy years old and he is always tired and sleeping. He had diabetes type II, but doesn t anymore. He can fall asleep within minutes, but doesn t want to get a check up. What sickness or other issues could he be suffering from? This doesn t appear normal to me.
