What Causes Tissue Discharge From Vagina Post Taking Mini-pill?

I have started my period today and a piece of chicken-like skin came out of my vagina when I was washing. I m not on the pill but have just taken the mini-pill for a week whilst on holiday to avoid having a period. I had my second child 18 months ago.
