What Causes Toe Nail Detachment?

hi. my toenail just got detached. i noticed that it was partially detached a week ago so i did some research and I assume that it was fungus. I have been applying iodine twice a day for the last 4 days. and today, it just got completely detached. How should i care for my toe now? thank you
