What Causes Unusual Taste In Mouth Despite Having Regular Eating Habits?

Hi, for the last few weeks I have had a very strange taste in the mouth, I wouldn't know how to describe it, I can also smell it from my stools when I go to the toilet it is such an odd smell, I have altered sense of smell. I am eating normally and going to the toilet normally no other symptoms and not taking any medications.It is getting so that I don't enjoy eating anything as it tastes weird. I haven't been eating anything out of the ordinary and I don't take any vitamins etc. It is a mystery. I am 49 I get night sweats from menopause but nothing different than before all this started though.
