What Causes Vaginal Bleeding After Fingering?

my boyfriend and i got into a heated moment yesterday. He started to "finger" me. today there was some blood in my panties, and i know for certain my period isn't due for at least another week. There is also a little bit of blood when i wipe. Is this something to worry about?
