What Causes Vaginal Bleeding After Having Sex?

Hi i had sex and right after came on my period. my period usually is 5 days and medium to heavy, but this last period came a week early and was light and lasted 3 days. my period tracker is saying my period is late but i thought that was my period. what could that have been and could sex have started my cycle?
