What Causes Vaginal Bleeding After Having Sex?

My wife is 30 and for the last few months every time we have sex, she starts a new period. We can wait until the end of that plus a day or two, and have the same results. And for the last few months, I feel like I'm hitting something on the inside of her around the cervix.
