What Causes Vaginal Bleeding After Stopping Birth Control Pills?

Hi, I stopped taking birth control a couple weeks ago and immediately started bleeding. The period lasted two and a half weeks. It got to the point where I couldn't take it and the pain, so I started my BC again. I missed two days this week and now am bleeding again. Should I be worried?
