What Causes Vaginal Bleeding Of Blood Clots Even After D&C?

I had a D&C on January 20th 2011. I was bleeding for about 2 to 2 and a half weeks before the surgery. It has been 19 days and I am still bleeding out brown blood. And it is coming out in clots the size of pennies some are just small clots. Is this normal?
