What Causes Vaginal Bleeding Post Intercourse?

My boyfriend and I have been having unprotected sex, I have missed a couple days of taking my birthcontrol pill. However, I did have my period this month. But it was lighter than normal. 2 days after I've been off, when I wiped there was light spotting. What could this mean?
