What Causes Vaginal Bleeding Post Mishap On Stairs?

I slipped on the stairs 3 days ago landing very heavily on the step on my right side around waist level. I was in severe pain, particularly from my stomach, and went to A & E in an ambulance on gas and air. I was told that my ribs were probably cracked and my stomach was examined by a senior consultant pressing on it who advised there was nothing internally wrong. My urine was checked for blood and it was clear but I was not xrayed or scanned. I am now bleeding vaginally. I have a coil and have not had any bleeding for years. Should I return to hospital?
