What Causes Vaginal Bleeding With Soreness Of Cervix?

Hi, I have been to the gyneocologist as I have had spotting... When I saw him he said my cervix was bleeding and looked a little sore. He took a smear which came back normal.

I still have Bleeding so have gone back today and was told I have one small black dot and one bigger one which he sees no sign of infections so thinks could be a artery or something and said he didn't think it looked like cancer so what could this be?
I'm being referred for a colposcopy.
What could these dots be ?
