What Causes Vaginal Bleeding?

I stopped taking my microgynon 30 pill on the 8th march. I started to bleed from the 12 - 17. I started taking the tablets again on the 16 which I took for 2 days as we decided to try for a baby. I started to bleed again on the 20 - 23. I have now had some spotting on the 25 and today (26). Why is this happening?
