What Causes Vaginal Infection?

i recently went to my doc for a vaginal infection, he said it was bv. I was prescribed nasty pils, and diflucan. But is came back and i noticed its after i had sex with my bf. I don't have any STD and i don't like this smell, is my bf not clean are something? Y did it come back. Please help
