What Causes Vaginal Infection?

Hi there my baby is 1month to date.i saw my gynea on friday ,he told me i have infection in my vigina i got tabs today ,but i felt on my vigina area and just under my vigina lips inside it feel like a ball on both lips inside
what may be the cause? help please.
