What Causes Vaginal Tightness With Pain During Sex?

I have been with my bfriend for five years. Never had any problems in our sex life. The past two months sex became painfull and my vagina seems really tight. I was put on the mini pill 2 months ago could that be the reason or these symptoms indicate something serious?
