What Causes Voice Changes And Lump Near Vocal Cord?

hi my father age 65 years he is a diabetic patient and a heart patient since 7 months there are changes in his voice its in and out he puked red thick blood from his mouth consulting doctors they said he is having a lump at the right side of the throat which is seen internaly and it is very near to his vocal chord can you please help me out how to proceed with it according to his age shall a lazer therapy done or is it cancer i will really be gratefull if you could suggest me how to go ahesd with it
