What Causes Vomiting Followed By Swelling In Neck Glands?

Hi. I was recently sick and threw up and my glands in my neck swelled up and were very hard. They went down after about 10 to 15 minutes. At one point I was afraid my throat was going to close off. What caused that, and should I be concerned or go see my Doctor about it?
