What Causes Weakness In Arms?

my grandma is 70 yrs old and from one night to another her body became weak and is not able to lift arms up or walk without falling or support needed. she is loosing weight but no pain or such does she feel. her organism is getting destroyed or so doctor said but unable to determain the cause.
