What Causes Weakness In Legs And Extreme Fatigue In A Diabetic?

Blood test revealed high platelets, low magnesium. Symptoms are weaknes esp in legs, extreme fatigue and I am a type 2 diabetic and just also had an abscess in a tooth. But these symptoms have come and gone for the last 6 months. I am overweight also. This question is for a friend. doctor thinking a flu but I think this is something more systemic since it has been going on for a long time.
