What Causes Weird Sensation In Ear And Pain After Straining During A Bowel Movement?

I just strained during a bowel movement and got a very odd and frightening sensation in my left air, rushing noise, the feeling of liquid floating in my ear and pain. THe strange sounds have now gone away, the ear still feels mildly irritated. I am recovering from surgery on a broken leg. I have gone off of my narcotics today.
