What Causes Welt Like Rashes On Buttocks?

My 16 yo daughter has large red welt like rash on her trunk and buttocks. They are the size of mosquito bites but there are too many of them. She says they itch but do not hurt. She has had the chicken pox and is not allergic to anything that we know of.
