What Causes Wheezing During Nights On Withdrawal Of Smoking?

Hi My name is Tania. I gave up smoking about 3 weeks ago, I am currently on nicotine patches. My problem is that I am still finding that I wheeze in bed at night time when I lay down flat on my back. I used to wheeze when I was smoking but this has not gone away since giving up. Am I being too premature and need to wait a little longer before it goes away?
