What Causes White Bumps On Outer Labia?

I have moderately sized raised white bumps on my outer labia. They are not painful, and have started appearing during the past month (I have been sick with other infections and on a lot of different medication). My primary care physician does not know what they are, but suggested they might be xanthomata. She suggested getting a biopsy. I d like to know what they might be and how to go about having them removed, hopefully without scarring.
