What Causes White Lesions In Brain?

I had a migraine for the first time last week. They did a CT scan and said it was normal, but my dr requested an MRI. I had the MRI this morning and they said there are spots on the right side of my brain and she's referring me to a neurologist to have it checked out. What could it be? Could it be nothing?
