What Causes White Matter In Ear With Wax Buildup Causing Earache?

I have had a ear ach for about two weeks now with alot of ear wax coming out and i had a friends mom who is a nurse look in my ear and when she did she seen white matter on my ear drum plus alot of wax build up in both ears. What could cause that?
