What Causes White Pus Like Discharge From Nipples?

I have a white pus like discharge that comes out of my nipples and (surrounding breast area) when i squeeze them. I also have these red bumps in my inner thighs that have the same discharge. My doctor suggested I use an exfoliating soap, but I am concerned it may be something more serious.
