What Causes White Spot On Tonsils?

Hi my boyfriend s tonsils has a white spot and the tonsil seemed to form a small tail like on the bottom of it. he has been to the health center on campus and tested negative for strep. the tail like shape did not form until today, after he went to the doctor. what should he do?
