What Causes White Spots In Throat, Horse Voice, Mild Fever And Sweating?

My daughter just got home from college. She can barely swallow d/t sore throat. When I looked in, I saw two notable size white spots. She had been to the health center at school as well as a Med Express near her school in the last three days. She was neg. for Mono, and strep. Should I be concerned about these white spots? She has a low grade fever, and says she has been sweating through her night clothes. her skin is pale and her voice is hoarse.
