What Causes Worm Underneath Nails And Finger Tips?

yes, my question is at the tips of my finger tips when pressed together i can see a small worm that looks like cotton fiber which are also underneath my nails be passed on to the the other finger
All my nails are pitted and have had this going on for a couple months now
