What Causes Yellow Colored Stool And Passing Of Excessive Gas?

My two year old grandson had a nasty stomach virus on New Year's Eve and ever since then, he has yellow stool and extensive gas that is quite strong smelling. His appetite is good and he shows not her signs of feeling sick. What could be the cause of this?
