What Causes Yellow Discolouration On Circumcision Stitches?

My husband has a new circumcision and the stitches are just starting to dissolve..where one stitch is gone, there is some yellow yet hard looking liquid...and it seems to be under every stitch..yet the stitches seem a bit yellow in color as well...is this normal and could this just be the stitches? He also has a larger yellowish spot on the underneath of the head.
