What Causes Yellow Palms And Loss Of Appetite After Inguinal Hernia Repair?

My fiance just had an iguinal hernia repair on his left side 4 days ago. It was a mesh repair. We have noticed that the palms of his hands have been yellow. He has been eating but not as much as he usually does. The only meds that he his taken is 5mg hydrocodone and 500 mg tylenol. Do you have any suggestions as to what this may be from?
