What Causes Yellowish Buildup On Armpit Hair?

i notice a yellowish buildup on my armpit hair. it starts from the base of the hair and grows out. i cant get rid of it other than temporarily by shaving my hair. It seems like a crystalization of some sort but i can't be sure. What is this and how can i cure it?
