What Could A Tongue Skin Flap Growth Causing Vomit And Gagging Be?

Hello, I have a large flap of skin behind my tongue near my tonsils, tho i havent been able to get a good look at it. I cough it up so i can feel it with the back of my tongue. It makes me gag and i end up throwing up. What is it and why have i never noticed it before, now everytime I am breathing heavily i can feel it and it makes me gag. What on earth is it?
