What Could Be The Itchy Red Spots All Over The Body?

I have dry red spots all over my body..they are mostly on my chest and torso with a few on my arms and legs. It started with one big one on my side but now I have them all over. They are dry and sometimes itchy..iv tried lotions creams and soaps but nothing seems to help..please help me
