What Could Be The Reason For Dark Brown Discharge And

What could be the reason for dark brown discharge and metallic smell? My period ended a couple of days ago but I had sex the day after my period was supposedly over and now I have this dark discharge and metallic smell . I'm hoping my body is just trying to cleanse itself of the old blood but I'm not quite sure.
