What Could Cause Irregular Periods With Difficulty In Conceiving?

my periods are not clear from july 2010 suddenly bleed like a dead blood but after seeing a doctor it is improved but remains for 2days(earlier it is 5 days).Doctor has done test blood,thirode,x-ray all are ok. Doc suggest me M-2 tonic but fail.Then contraceptive pills for 3 months after that improvement is there for not satisfactory.I am tryihg to conceive from last 3 months but fail.Is their any other test to check my problem
