What Could Cause Recurring Red, Blotchy Rashes On Face?

I have recently had some red rash blotchiness on my face. It appeared suddenly 2 days ago, wasn't there yesterday, then re-appeared today. I haven't used anything different so I do not believe it is an allergic reaction. I have heard of slap face and was wondering if this sounds like this is what it may be?
