What Could Chronic Dull Abdominal Pain With Urge To Urinate Indicate?

My husband has been suffering from cronic dull abdominal pain on his right side, this increases to a sharp pain prior to the urge to urinate. This has been going on for aproximately three months, but only slightly increasing. What could these symptoms mean?
