What Could Cuts On Butt Region Suggest?

I don't wanna sound crazy or anything, but I got this cut on the very top of my butt crack. I didn't do anything that I know of to do this...one day it was just there. It's painful to touch and hurts when water touches it when I shower. Any info on how to treat it and maybe what caused it?
