What Could Dizzy Spells With Blurry Vision Suggest?

My fiance often gets dizzy and feels like she is going to faint. She just got so dizzy that she laid down and was still dizzy. Then the dizziness subsided till she turned on her side and she said even with her eyes closed the room was spinning. She has felt like this for a year with the dizzy spells.
