What Could Enlarged Tonsils With Swallowing Difficulty Suggest?

i have always have problems breathing and swallowing (takes 3-4 times just to swallow my own spit). and after 2 years of seeing asthma specalists nothing has changed.. i have always felt like i was being choked, i cant even wear anything around my neck no matter how loose it is.. i asked my doctor to take out my tonsils and she said they dont seem large enough to be causing these problems.. but they are extending to the pillars, covering about 50%.. i cant sleep at night and it greatly affecting my quality of life.. i can see that the right side is much larger than the left and it feels like the swallowing problems are on the right side.. when i watch myself swallow in the mirror it only goes down the left side of my throat... should i see another doctor or are they going to tell me the same thing?
