What Could Excessive Imbalance Mean? I Awoke This Morning And

What could excessive imbalance mean? I awoke this morning and couldn't walk straight - almost ran into two different walls! I'm almost 49, have had at least two grand mal seizures in my life - last one was 25 years ago (meds prevent more). I know as I age the fluid in my ears harden and it's harder to balance. I try to work on it with yoga and Pilates but no improvement. Should I check my ears? Wax buildup?
