What Could Intense Pain While Bending The Knee Indicate?

i have pain when bending my knee and the lateral part of my knee. It also is painful on the front . More pain when walking or going on stairs. I normally run 3x a week but took 1.5 weeks off due to pain. Ran this morning and when I finished the pain was intense going from sitting to standing. What could it be?
